Our Heart
Children ages 2–5 are welcomed into a safe, joyful, and inspiring environment where they learn through pā‘ani me aloha—play with love. Rooted in the practice of pono, we honor each child as an individual while nurturing connection, curiosity, and balance. Our gardens, outdoor play, music, and storytelling create meaningful experiences that foster respect, wonder, and the spirit of aloha.

“Ka Hana Pono and its devoted teachers provide a safe, open, and loving environment for our children to grow and thrive. Kids are allowed to be creative, to move and adapt in ways that fulfill them, and to learn at their own pace while being inspired by music, dance, and art. Angelica and Bison, the founders, are truly inspirational—supportive of parents and professional with heart. That foundation is what makes this preschool one-of-a-kind.”

What Families Are Saying...
“My child’s three-year experience at Ka Hana Pono was so rewarding. She always felt comfortable and safe, and learning was always fun for her. Circle time was her favorite—Uncle Bison would play guitar and the children would sing and dance along. I watched her develop physically, emotionally, and socially here. We found not only the best preschool teachers, but lifelong friends.”
“I was so happy to find Ka Hana Pono. My daughter had been to other daycares before, but we never felt quite right about them. At Ka Hana Pono, I truly felt that the Teachers loved my daughter as if she were their own. That nurturing is something we will treasure forever. Years later, I can still see the positive influence this preschool had on her.”
"Children were not meant to sit still. They were meant to move, to play, to explore the world with their whole being.
Play is not a break from learning. Play is learning."
- Child Development Pioneer, Bev Boss

Ka Hana Pono translates as “the practice of living in pono”—balance, harmony, and right relationship. For us, this means creating a preschool where keiki grow through pā‘ani me aloha—play with love—while learning to live in balance with self, others, and the natural world.
At Ka Hana Pono, children are guided to explore with curiosity, to express themselves through music, storytelling, and art, and to care for the gardens and ʻāina that nourish us. Like paddling a canoe, living in pono is not a one-time choice, but a practice—moment by moment, returning to balance with joy, respect, and aloha.
